These dots are the board colours: every talent is painted by the class whose content it holds, and each class's talents are scattered across five wedges — so this list is your map key. Pick your class by clicking its medallion on the board (or the dropdown in the toolbar). The passive is always on; the board is shared — any class can path anywhere.
Hold CTRL while a tooltip is open to lock it: dotted keywords become hoverable for a quick definition, and clicking one opens its entry in the glossary — every mechanic on one page.
Every node wears a glyph for what it does, painted in the colour of the class whose talent it is. Big nodes carry bigger glyphs — zoom out far enough and the small ones drop back to plain dots.
Your class's talents are not all in your own wedge. Each wedge keeps its medallion, its spine and two clusters on-theme; the other four clusters hold other classes' talents — and yours are scattered the same way across five wedges. So a node is painted by the class whose talents it holds, not by where it sits: follow the colours (the CLASSES tab is the key) and the faint tint on the connecting lines tells you which wedge you are standing in. Hunting something specific? Type its class in the search box — road, roadmaster, hq, mk road — and every matching node lights up wherever it lives.
Scroll or pinch to zoom, drag or WASD/arrows to pan, 0 resets the view, / jumps to search. Click a node to spend a point, shift/right-click to refund one (logged in + linked). Esc closes this panel first, then clears the search.
Each class levels separately — XP goes to the class your company is playing, so you level all eight by playing all eight — and each class keeps its own talent tree: autopilot by default, yours the moment you link Discord and save one here. Achievement points are account-wide and widen every class's budget.
Every talent on this board is open to everyone — your class simply does its own thing 30% better. An Industrialist gets +30% on every industry-ramp talent they take, a Merchant on market-demand talents, a Magnate on capital and operating-cost talents, an Urbanist on every HQ talent, and each vehicle class on its OWN mode bonus. They also get: +15% on their own mode and +3 Mk tiers (below). Anyone can build anything; a specialist just builds it harder.
Plant your company headquarters in a town and it becomes the centre of your power: every HQ grants a baseline +10% town growth, +10% industry output, +10% store depth and +10% market bonus on your deliveries there — talents raise each further. Reach extends ALL of it, at full strength, to the nearest towns: +1 town per reach point (max 5 extra), so a committed build governs a whole region rather than one town. Urbanists start with +3 reach built in. Several companies MAY plant HQs in the same town: the town-level facets from every HQ there are summed into one super city, and each participant also earns a metropolis bonus on its own trade facet — clustering is rewarded, not punished. HQ nodes sit on every class's spine, so no class is ever locked out of them.
Industry ramp makes the industries you serve grow their production faster, scaled by your share of what they move. It lifts the whole map — everyone else hauling out of that industry benefits too.
Every vehicle has Mk2-Mk8 tiers (better speed/cargo/power, same look + your colours). Mk comes ONLY from cluster capstones — the big node at the far end of a cluster, each worth +1 Mk tier. There is no back door: you have to work in through that cluster's smaller buffs to reach it. A vehicle sector holds four of them, so 1/2/3/4 capstones = Mk2/Mk3/Mk4/Mk5, in any order. Talents alone never reach Mk6. Each vehicle class gets +3 Mk tiers on its own mode (cap Mk8) — Roadmaster on road, Rail Baron on rail, Admiral on ships, Aviator on air — so all four capstones plus the matching class is the ONLY road to Mk6, Mk7 and Mk8 — every one of those trucks in the game belongs to a Roadmaster. Your Mk ceiling applies to every vehicle of that mode, vanilla or specialist. Specialists (Coal Hauler, etc.) unlock once and then ride your mode's Mk. Each tier also arrives later in-game — Mk2 two years after the base vehicle… Mk8 fourteen years on — so you need the talent and the year.
